Have fun while giving back
Love a good event? So do we. Orion hosts several fundraisers and community events throughout the year like our Casino Royale gala, Putting Out of Poverty golf tournament and Music for Everyone concert. Event volunteers help with everything from setup and registration to greeting guests and keeping things running smoothly. It's social, it's energizing, and it's one of the best ways to experience the Orion community firsthand.
STARS: Kids Programs

Orion's STARS program gives K–middle school students the academic support and enrichment they deserve and volunteers are at the heart of it. Lead a book club, help with hands-on STEM activities, or join our summer camp team. Prefer working behind the scenes? Help organize our lending library or distribute books to families across the tri-county area. However you show up, you're helping a child discover what's possible.
Community & Direct Service
Neighbors helping neighbors hands on
Some of our most meaningful work happens face to face. Community & Direct Service volunteers are the people our neighbors often meet first offering a warm greeting, lending a hand during programs and events, or helping sort and organize donations that go directly to families in need. If you're the kind of person who wants to see the direct impact of your time helping a neighbor this is where you belong.
Behind the Scenes
Big impact without the spotlight
Not every hero works the front lines and Orion couldn't run without the people who keep things moving behind the scenes. From answering phones and organizing files to helping with data entry and mailings, our office volunteers are the backbone of daily operations. If you're detail-oriented, enjoy a quieter pace, or just want to help in a way that fits into your morning, office support might be your perfect fit.
